Drug Administration (SDA)
Formed in march 1998, the SDA is responsible for
the supervision and control of medicine.

State Environment Protection Administration (SEPA) Ministerial-level authority, which is responsible
for the environment protection in China. |
State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO)
Founded in 1980 as Patent Office of the PR China
(CPO) to promote the progress of innovation in science and technology,
and to help popularize inventions and their exploitation. With
the restructuring of the governmental agencies in 1998, it was
renamed SIPO. It is in charge of patent affairs and the coordinating
authority for foreign-related intellectual property issues.

National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) NSFC was founded in 1986. It manages the 'National
Natural Science Fund'. NSFC directs, coordinates and financially
supports basic research, identifies and fosters scientific talents,
and promotes science and technology. In 2000, its annual budget
was over 1,290 million yuan (versus 80 million yuan in 1986). |
China Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC)
CSTEC (institution under the Ministry of Science
and Technology) is active in international science and technology
exchange. It promotes the cooperation in science and technology
between Chinese and foreign S&T institutions and companies. |
