Prominent Genome Projects: Mus musculus

Mouse Genome Informatics (MGI)
The MGI database provides integrated access to data on the genetics, genomics and biology of the mouse (Mus musculus).

Mouse Genome Sequencing Consortium (MGSC)
The MGSC was formed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Wellcome Trust and three private companies (SmithKline Beecham, Merck Genome Research Institute and Affymetrix, Inc.) to speed up the determination of the DNA sequence of the mouse genome. The genome sequencing and efforts are conducted by the following members of the MGSC:

The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute
Washington University School of Medicine Genome Sequencing Center
Whitehead Institute Center for Biomedical Research

The mouse genome sequence can be viewed at Emsebl's 'Mouse Genome Server'. Ensembl, a joint venture project between the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL)/European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) and the Sanger Institute, is the fourth member of the MGSC.
